From Sun 13 Jul 2025, the Wellesley Street Bus Improvements project will shift to The Civic side of Wellesley Street.

Access to The Civic and The Civic Box Office will remain open for all events. Please allow extra time when travelling to events at The Civic and follow all directional signage and detours that are in place.

Recommended Route: If you're arriving from Aotea Square or the Civic Carpark, we recommend using Queen Street for the most accessible route.

Our commitment to continuous improvement

We have a commitment to continuously improving the accessibility of our sites, events and customer experiences.

We commission regular accessibility assessments of all our venues and events. These reviews have given us a good understanding of the current state of accessibility.

If you have any other accessibility-related questions please e-mail us at accessibility@aucklandlive.co.nz.

Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Initiative

Auckland Live is proudly participating in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Initiative, supporting people with disabilities that may not be so obvious to the casual observer.

Many people with a disability use or carry something – whether that’s a wheelchair, guide dog, hearing aid or white cane – that visibly indicates what the disability might be. But other disabilities, such as autism, dementia, mental health issues or learning difficulties, are not so obvious.

Under the Hidden Disability Sunflower Initiative, people with such disabilities can choose to wear a lanyard bearing a sunflower logo as a subtle way of letting others know that they may require additional support, assistance or a bit more time.

We proudly support the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Initiative at all our venues, including Aotea Centre, Aotea Square, The Civic, Town Hall, Bruce Mason Centre, Shed 10, The Cloud and Viaduct Events Centre.

Our staff have been trained to assist Sunflower wearers when visiting our venues.
